Favorites: June 2017

Whew, another month come and gone! I saw a commercial the other day advertising Christmas…already!  2017 is flying by and it’s hard to believe we are already in July.  But with a new month comes a new dose of favorites.  I rounded up my most used products from the month of June to share with you today.  I have a mix of skin care, hair care and make up this month.   Hopefully you find something new to try!

Make-up:

I am pretty loyal to Becca’s Champagne Pop highlighter.  It has been a staple for me since it was released over 2 years ago but this month a change up has occurred.  I have been loving Dior’s Nude Air Luminizer Powder in nude glow.  This is a beautiful highlighter that adds a glow to my cheekbones, bridge of my nose and cupids bow.  This has a nude/pink tint to it and I think it is probably more suited to light skin tones but there are two other shade in the range to compliment those with darker skin. This has a steep price tag but it is absolutely stunning on the skin.  Sticking with face products, NARS released a new concealer a few months ago and I have really been enjoying it.  NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer is beautiful.  I love this for blemishes but it also works really well under the eyes. I thought it might be too drying under the eyes but this has a gorgeous creamy finish. I am currently using the color creme brûlée which is a tad light when I have fake tan on but I think it will be perfect in the colder, paler months.

What would a favorites be without a lip product!? My handbag staple for the month of June has been the HOURGLASS Girl Lip Stylo in Dreamer.  This is super comfortable, hydrating and has amazing color payoff.  This is a peachy, pink color on me and wears really well.  It has decent staying power for being so creamy and I love the packaging.  HOURGLASS always hits a high note for me.

Hair Care:

This month I rediscovered an old favorite for my hair.  I’ve been using the Bumble and Bumble Thickening Dryspun Finish spray to add texture to my otherwise flat hair.  I used this several years ago but have rediscovered my love for it as my hair is a bit shorter now.  This adds a bit of grit to my hair, gives it some grip and puts back in volume.  My only qualm with this is that I go through it so quick, I find the product is gone in a hurry.  Other than that, I love this after I’ve finished styling my hair to give it that undone, worn-in look.

Skin Care:

New in this month is a game changer for my skin.  I was in the market for a new serum/treatment.  I have sensitive skin so I needed something that was not going to be too harsh but also wanted a product that actually did something- enter Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Frames Glycol Night Serum.  This stuff is amazing and has really had a huge impact on my skin’s texture, number of breakouts and pores.  I can’t recommend this enough, I find the AHA/BHA blend improves my skin but does not irritate it.  Love, Love, Love.  This will definitely be repurchased when I run out.

My last favorite this month is a body cream which is odd for me.  I am a classic Lubriderm from the drugstore kind of gal so spending more then $7 on a lotion is not my style.  However, I had to give Sol de Janeiro’s Brazilian Bum Bum Cream a try. I heard and read rave reviews about this lotion and was sucked in by the hype.  But, I absolutely love this lotion.  It has a beautiful beachy, tropical scent that lingers but is not too strong.  It also leaves a light glow to my skin, especially when I am outside in the sunshine.  I can’t speak too much about its claims to tighten my skin, but it leaves my skin very hydrated and smooth looking.  I may see the full sized product in my future!
