Glossier has been blowing up the internet over the last year. I have been an avid user of the Milky Jelly Cleanser and Balm Dotcom for well over a year now. I recently purchased a few more items from the brand and love them all so much and wanted to share my thoughts, even though the world wide web doesn’t need any more rave reviews for this amazing brand. Glossier is a wonderful company that believes beauty “should be fun, easy, imperfect, and personal”, which I love. If you have heard of the brand and have been on the fence, I hope I can convince you to try! If you’ve never heard of Glossier, maybe you will see something you want to try and fall in love like I have.
I first heard of the brand from an amazing blogger I follow, Tamira Jarrel (find her blog here). She is all about minimal makeup and skin care so I took her up on the recommendation to check out Glossier. Below are some of my favorite products from the brand. I have been putting these to use over the last couple of months and can honestly say these have my made everyday favorites for both makeup and skincare.
SKINCARE:
Milky Jelly Cleanser: This is the most intersting texture for a face wash, it’s between a balm and a gel cleanser but it is an amazing cleanser and leaves my skin feeling clean. I love the clean scent and the fact that it does not irritate my very sensitive skin. I typically use this as my second cleanse. After I’ve removed my makeup using an oil, I apply a pump or two to my face and work in circular motions. Then, I’ll add a little water to emulsify and continue cleansing. This leaves my skin feeling fresh, clean and hydrated. I do not get a tight, dry face at all with this cleanser. This will continue to be a part of my skin care routine. This made my 2016 favorite beauty products, you can read more here!
Priming Moisturizer: I am hit or miss big time on primers, my favorite is the Becca First Light Filter Face Primer. However, this primer does an amazing job at smoothing out the skin and adding a dose of hydration. I find I still moisturize with my regular face cream then add this as a last step before applying foundation. It helps my makeup last all day and I have a beautiful glow to my skin.
Balm Dotcom: I love this all purpose balm for cuticles, lips, and any other dry patches. I purchased the unscented version and love to keep it in my purse. It is very moisturizing and really helps to protect my skin. This is unscented and has no tint. I love this for sensitive skin and to add back hydration to the skin.
MAKEUP:
I purchased the Makeup Phase 2 set to try a few of the makeup products (mostly to get Boy Brow). Overall I think this is a great way to try a few things and save a few dollars. I had made a previous purchase with Glossier to try the skin tint and have loved that for several months.
Boy Brow: I LOVE this. This is my favorite brow product I have ever used. This gives brows a fluffy look, light tint, and a soft hold to keep those stray brows in check. I purchased this in blond and it works perfect on my brows. On full face makeup days I use the Anastasia Brow wiz to fill in my brows and then comb through with the Boy Brow to add volume and finish my brows. I can’t recommend this enough!
Generation G: This is Glossier’s sheer matte lip tint. I really love the color choices and I find this has great staying power. I do find that it dries my lips out just a bit. After a bit of wear time I will dab a little Balm Dotcom on my lips to rehydrate. I purchased this in Crush which gives my pout a gorgeous just bitten stain.
Stretch Concealer: A perfect concealer for great skin days or when you want a minimal look. I love dabbing this on to uneven patches to smooth everything out. This is extremely hydrating, offers a light to medium coverage and wears very well on my combination skin during the day. I use this under my eyes to mask dark circles as well as on the rest of my face for blemishes. This does not cover every imperfection, it lets you skin still be skin but I love the texture and the light feeling it has. Overall, a big thumbs up for me!
Perfecting Skin Tint: Keeping in line with the stretch concealer that offers light, natural coverage- the Perfecting Skin tint is wonderful for evening out skin tone but letting your natural freckles shine through. I love this especially in the summer for days when I want just a hint of coverage or to thin out other foundations I use. This is very watery and requires a good shake before applying. I find my fingertips or a brush work best for application. My BeautyBlender soaks the product up too much for my liking so I use that at the end to smooth everything out. This is very dewy and I find that I do need to powder in my t-zone just to take away the excess shine. Overall this is one of my favorites from the brand.
If you couldn’t tell, I really love Glossier. Their products are amazing, the packaging is gorgeous and I find almost everything I have tried has become a fast favorite. I feel like the brand is just getting better and I can’t wait to see what they come out with next!
